No real surprises, but The Blind Side made the final 10 and Penelope Cruz proves that speaking with a thick Spanish accent and looking sexy is enough to get an Oscar nomination. I won't comment onThe Blind Side's nomination, I havn't seen the movie. However, I wonder if this shows more support for Bullock and that she is headed for the win over Streep. The only snub to really shock me is the lack of District 9 in the Make-up category, which was some of the best work of the year in any craft category. Link to full field of nominees below:
